Celebrating Love!

Love is patient and kind. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.
1st Corinthians 13: 4-5,7

On July 18th, my grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In this day and age where the average marriage last only seven years, this is truly an accomplishment. Through the years they have set an example for our family of what true love and devotion is all about. Now saying that, I think like most married couples they would tell you that marriage is not easy but if you are committed to each other you can make it through anything.

We were honored to be able to celebrate their anniversary with the entire family. The best part of the of the celebration for me was when Nanny and Paw-Paw shared their love story including details around the wedding ceremony, honeymoon and early years of marriage.

Here is the happy couple...
Maybe this is why they are still going strong...

Collin loved getting to play with Uncle Robby...

Another highlight of the weekend for me was when Nanny pulled out her wedding dress. Made for her by her own mother, her wedding dress meticulously sewn and was white, knee length with capped sleeves. It had a short over-jacket that buttoned down the back. As you can see below, I had to try it on and I loved it! It is my prayer that my family will be with Joe and I in 43 years celebrating your 50th anniversary. Who knows, I may have a granddaughter that will want to wear my dress as well!
