The weekend after the tornado hit us we were scheduled to go to Montgomery so Joe could play in the "Rites of Spring" golf tournament at Montgomery Country Club with Bobby Trott. Since we couldn't stay in our house because we had no power (and did not know when we would get it back) and the yard and neighborhood was a mess, we decided to go to Montgomery and forget about the tornado for the weekend. I am so glad that we did! We stayed with Aunt Melanie and Uncle Gil and all of their kids. The boys had so much fun! The whole weekend Lendon and Collin thought that they were hot stuff because they got play outside with the "big" boys (aka: Phillip and his friends). On Saturday and Sunday, Melanie, Sally and I took the boys up to the club to play at the pool around nap times and they were super excited because this was the first time that we have been swimming all summer. On Friday and Saturday night, Joe and I went up to the club for planned events and had so much fun relaxing and hanging out with our good friends. The weekend as a whole provided a much needed change of scenery for us after the bad weather! Thanks to the McKenzie clan for hosting us!
